July is not shaping up as I had hoped

I thought July was looking pretty good for getting up into the mountains for a while, but life started putting roadblocks in my way, and it looks like July is not going to be a vacation to the mountains.

I'm still planning to go to Cripple Creek for the holidays, but beyond that, things just aren't working out. I've completed all the necessary tasks to sell the Arctic Fox, but I need to actually start advertising it and get it out of here. However, this won't be possible if I'm coming and going in the mountains during July.

And today it just occurred to me that I have to get my new tag for the truck in July, and that's always a major hassle, because of the annual emission control test the truck has to pass, that quite often requires some kind of repair job on some obscure part of the trucks emissions system.

So, those and some other things are causing July not to work out well for me, at least not in the way I had hoped. And August is already just as bad because of various medical appointments I have during August, especially my cataract appointments.

So it is what it is, and I am what I am, and what will be will be, and I'm sure several other colloquialisms would apply here, but none of them will save this summer from being too busy for me to take a vacation.

Is this cowboy fishing, or breaking in a new pair of boots? The correct answer is…. Both.

He’s got a fishing rod in his hand, so he’s obviously fishing. And it was pretty normal for cowboys after buying a brand-new pair of cowboy boots to stand in the horse trough until the new boots were soaking wet, and then wear them until they dried out, which ensured a quick and perfect fit of these tough, stiff cowboy boots.

Another leftover Milky Way picture from Elephant Butte State Park in New Mexico. I enjoy taking these pictures because they’re very challenging. What I don’t enjoy is taking these pictures at 3 o’clock in the morning.

Cowboy Action Shooter at Ben Avery gun range, Everyone wants their cowboy outfits to be as authentic as possible, but it appears to me that some of the female shooters insist on wearing their underwear on the outside. But I have yet to see a male cowboy shooting while wearing nothing but a pair of long johns.
