A solution to sticky keys and a decrepit body

Yesterday, I blogged about why I need a new computer, and the reasons were all valid. But like everything else in life, there are also reasons why something is not a good idea, and here are a few of those reasons.......

Reason number one...... I do not like Windows 11. In the brief encounters I've had with Windows 11, it has shown itself to be full of software bloat and built-in advertising, some of which is sticky and hard to get rid of. But there's no getting around Windows 11 if you buy a new computer because that's all they come with nowadays.

Reason number two..... A new computer is expensive, at least for me. I could live for months most of the time on what this computer costs. On the other hand, my old computer cost about the same amount, but this latest Asus computer is better and faster in every way. And if you factor in current inflation, this new Asus is actually cheaper than my old one.

Reason number three...... I only buy Asus computers, and Asus computers are not as easy to find as some of the other brands. Asus builds computers for every budget, but they tend to specialize in and prioritize laptops for gamers. And I think that's one of the things that originally drew me to the Asus brand. Powerful gaming computers have all the gadgetry that makes them ideal for playing high-intensity video games, and that same gadgetry makes them excellent for photography and video software. Gamers are very picky about their computers, and a lot of them choose Asus.

Reason number four. Getting a new computer means you have to build up the software that your old computer had, and personalize it so it suits you. This can be very time-consuming and, in some cases, complicated. But for some strange reason, I enjoy replacing all the software on a new computer. Yes, I could plug some wires into each laptop and replicate all the software from the old one, which is known as cloning, but I prefer to start from scratch to avoid carrying any problems from my old computer to the new one.

Reason number five.... I had to buy the computer from Newegg. I much prefer buying computers and their peripherals from Amazon. But Amazon doesn't take PayPal, and what little money I could squirrel away was in PayPal, so I chose Newegg, which takes PayPal. I've used them in the past for similar deals, even though it was gonna take a week to get the computer delivered instead of a day or two.

So that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. It may not be interesting, informative, too geeky, or even Unbelievable. Still, it gave me something to write about today, and since my life has been pretty boring lately, I feel fortunate to have even this to write about.
