What is happiness? ~ 4 comments

A nice day today, though it was a little breezy, which made it feel chilly. But at least the clouds have gone, the skies are blue, and my batteries are getting charged.... Which, for a boondocker, makes for a happy day.

My solar panel equipment is supposed to arrive early next week, so hopefully that will be the case. However, it's not so important at the moment because the 10-day weather forecast is for warm, sunny blue skies. But as a boondocker, I have to be prepared for cloudy weather and realize that it will probably hit at the worst possible time and have enough solar panels to hang on as long as I need to.

I moved to a new boondocking area at the other end of Lake Havasu, which is where the Home Depot is. In fact, both Walmart and Home Depot are about 3 miles away from me, right next to Highway 95, and I'm in a boondocking area right next to Highway 95, so things couldn't be more convenient, which is the reason I chose to spend some time at Lake Havasu.

On the way from last night's boondocking area, area I passed half a dozen or so large boondocking areas, most of which are on Arizona trust lands, and they were as crowded as I ever remember seeing them, which gave me some concern about the boondocking area I'm heading to, which is a very popular area because of its proximity to the large Walmart supercenter.

My concerns were well-founded when I entered the BLM boondocking area I was headed to and found it as crowded as I've ever seen it. I had actually felt that these boondocking areas near Lake Havasu would be less crowded, because most boondockers would be heading for Quartzsite. After all, the Big Show starts next week..... Looks like I was wrong!!!

The Boondockers motto

Doing what you like is freedom; liking what you do is happiness.

Some of my scattered neighbors at the Arizona trust lands boondocking area. At the bottom of the picture, you can see the Jeep trail that I came in on after turning off Highway 95.

A few lingering clouds at sunset.

The sunset clouds look like they're on fire.
