A second look?

Since I have a mobile RV repairman coming to work on my camper next Wednesday, I'm going to stop writing about my camper woes until then, as I'm pretty sure everybody's bored of hearing about it. That, of course, will leave me with nothing to talk about since camper problems are the only thing going on in my life right now, except maybe my tentative plans for the future.

And speaking of tentative plans, as soon as the Lance is in traveling condition, I would like to visit my property near the 11-mile reservoir again. I know my complaints about the road to get there didn't sound like I ever wanted to do that again. But, there is another dirt road that I can use to get to my property, which is a couple of miles longer than the road I described previously. However, I'm unsure of its condition since I haven't been on it in a long time.

I'm interested in taking a second look at my property so soon after my last visit because the more I think about it, the more useful it may be to me. This is mostly due to the new experience of having Wi-Fi and cell phone service out there. The town I used to live in, Woodland Park, which I've called home for 30 years or more, is only about 35 miles away from my property. It has inexpensive gas stations, fast food restaurants like McDonald's, Arby's, and Taco Bell, and my favorite store, Walmart.

Now I know 35 miles is a long way to get to a Walmart, but I do it in the wintertime when I drive from Quartzsite to Parker to get to a Walmart. I need to spend more time at my property near 11 Mile Reservoir to get a feel for using it occasionally as a Summer home.

The high country is pretty to look at, but it's a tough place to live for more than a night or two.
