The summer doldrums

It feels like the Summer doldrums are here; actual Summer is over, but Fall hasn't taken over yet, so the temperatures hang around in the mid-80s every day. There's not much of anything going on as Summer is being eased out the door and Fall is peeking around the corner, waiting for Mother Nature to slam the door on Summer and bring in some chilly weather and changing leaves.

This is usually the time of year when I like to take a mini-vacation or two, and get in the mood for my upcoming winter travels. But because of my one-track mind and the importance of my upcoming cataract operations, that's been the only thing that occupies my mind, and it's hard to show interest in anything else.

And not having anything else to think about not only makes it difficult to find something to write about in my blog, it also makes it hard to think about my only remaining hobby of taking snapshots of the things I do or the things that interest me which is why I've been struggling with my blog of late and finding it difficult to come up with a subject to write about or take a picture of, and it looks like it will be that way until late October or early November.

But I will muddle through somehow. My rule of thumb for writing on my blog is to write about what I'm doing, what I'm thinking, and what I'm thinking about doing. That gives me a lot of leeway for something to write about, but that usually requires some imagination, and imagination is in short supply for me nowadays.
