A worthless drunk
You may remember my wife, who had her condo made unlivable by a drunk driver who ran into the side of the building, Hers and two other condos, sending all those owners searching for a place to live. She's been staying with our daughter all this time, but recently she received a check from her insurance company for money to rent an apartment while her condo is being repaired, which, to this day, hasn't started yet.
Well, she rented an apartment, and this weekend she's going to start moving some of her stuff out of our daughter’s house and over to the new place. I don't know what she would have done if she hadn't had someone she could move in with, because the insurance companies move very, very slowly. Although they never mention that in their endless television advertising.
But that's been my experience dealing with insurance companies. If it's a small claim, they pay out quickly. However, if it's a large claim, they show up with a car full of attorneys and drag it out as long as possible, so hopefully, you will get tired of dealing with them and accept whatever pittance they offer for your loss. Needless to say, experience has shown me that insurance companies rank among lawyers and politicians as some of the most difficult people to deal with.
But there is someone even worse than that, and that person would be the worthless drunk that ran into the condos and screwed up numerous peoples lives. It seems that he had a warrant for his arrest in another state for being a worthless drunk, but a brilliant Colorado judge, who you think would be the smartest of the smart, and the fairest of the fair turned the worthless drunk loose, and now he's left Colorado looking for more people whose lives he can destroy. I know the Eighth Amendment of the Constitution prohibits cruel and unusual punishment, but maybe there should be a special punishment just for people who drive drunk.
Theboondork... wondering who's worse: criminals? Or the judges that set them free?

Oh no! I've run out of pictures, and I'm having to show flowers growing in the garden. I've got to get out and do something, I need to do something that's fun, entertaining, challenging, and doesn't cost anything. And so far all I've come up with is writing this blog.
