Am I out at my property?

Well, glory be! It's a miracle, a miracle, I tell you! I've owned this property near 11 Mile Reservoir for about 30 years, and I've never had any Wi-Fi or cell phone reception, but when I got here today, I've got both. The Wi-Fi is pretty slow, and I’m not sure how long it will last, but for now, it works, so it must be a technological miracle.

And that's not the only good news. I've been here for a few hours now, and I've yet to see a single mosquito. After the hordes of mosquitoes invaded this place last summer, I wondered if something had changed, and mosquitoes would always be here during the summer, but so far, so good.

It's nice to be out here again. It’s so peaceful and quiet, it's easy to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. Now that I've got phone service, for how long I don't know, mosquitoes don't seem to be a problem, and since I'm looking for free boondocking places to stay for the summer, having a working phone opens up my property as a place I can safely remain and still be in contact with my family.

I came here to spend the night, but now that I have phone service, I'm tempted to stay for a couple of nights to see if this miracle phone service is for real.

If this place works out for me as a possible place to stay for some of the Summer, that gives me two places that I can stay for free, my property in Cripple Creek and this 40-acre property I named "Pete's" many, many years ago.

I went out to my property near 11 mile reservoir and took this picture on the way there. My property is at the foot of the mountains on the left side, about 3 miles down this Jeep trail.

My boondocking spot at the 40 acres that I call "Pete's". I'll probably do a little shooting while I'm here since I have a couple of handguns with me.

My Internet is so slow here that it takes about 10 minutes to get a picture to load on my website, which is why I’ve included only two photos instead of more. But I'm thrilled that I can upload my blog from my property. I don't mind if it takes an hour to put a picture up; I'm just happy it works at all.
