Low and slow.
I put my ground solar panels out for the last two days, and they've worked really well. They are 300 watts, and they're only supposed to put out 12 amps of power to the batteries, but they been putting out 17 or 18 amps, which is surprising to me. Just using the solar panels on the roof, it takes somewhere around 12 to 2 p.m. to charge the batteries fully. But with the roof panels and the portable panels, I was completely charged up by ten thirty in the morning. But it hasn't been as cloudy as the weather guessers had forecast, so that probably helped some.
I've spent a fair amount of time in Congress Arizona, over the years, and I don't ever remember military jets flying around here. I've heard that there is a bombing range somewhere between Phoenix and Congress, but I've never seen it before, and I've never seen or heard jets flying around. But despite my past experiences, F-35 fighters have been flying around me every day that I've been here.
The problem is, unlike the fun of taking pictures in Ajo, Arizona, of the low and slow flying A-10 warthogs, F-35s fly high and fast and are almost impossible to see, making taking their pictures extremely challenging. And what makes it so annoying is the F-35s are incredibly loud, making you think they’re nearby, when actually they’re miles away and 30 or 40,000 feet in the air.
I got a few blurry pictures of them from far, far away, and will show them tomorrow. Meanwhile, I'm still sitting outside hoping one will fly by low and slow so I can enjoy taking their pictures as much as I enjoy the warthogs.
