Mental ramblings

I spent some time this morning, before it got hot, removing some of the wires I added to the camper when I was trying to get the taillights working, figuring that everything I did would confuse the RV repair guy who's coming today. And since he's paid by the hour, any problems I can get out of the way that he doesn't have to fix saves me money.

The last few days have been in the 80s, so they’re fairly comfortable, but the rest of the week should be in the 90s, which makes doing things not all that much fun. I used to think 80° temperatures were fairly comfortable with the low humidity that Colorado has, but the older I get, the more difficult it is for me to adapt to temperatures that always seem too high or too low.

I'm looking forward to the possibility of going back out to my property near 11 Mile Reservoir if the Lance camper can get fixed. It's an easy drive, distance-wise, especially if I boondock for a night at the Bass Pro Shop parking lot, which I enjoy because I can go shopping while boondocking. Plus, I have to drive right past a Walmart, making it very convenient to stock up on groceries for the trip.

Now that all my summer trips are about finding boondocking spots, I'm looking for activities to make my property visits more enjoyable and entertaining so that I can spend more than a night or two there. I know I'll take a gun or two to do some shooting, I can always take some pictures, and go walking around, but I don't have any projects I want to do like I used to...... maybe with a large Lake only 10 minutes away, I shouldn't have given all my fishing tackle away to my sons.

The Marina at 11 Mile Reservoir. Pretty pitiful compared to the Marina at the Elephant Butte State Park in New Mexico. Of course, 11 Mile Reservoir is tiny compared to Elephant Butte Reservoir.

I spotted this spider’s lair early in the morning when the rising Sun struck the dewdrops and made them shine like diamonds, and wondered, was there anyone so brave as to slowly poke their pinky in the deep, dark hole in the center of the shining dew, knowing the evil that therein lies? ...... I think not.
