A beautiful day.
Another beautiful day. Mid-60s, blue skies, typical winter weather in the desert. It looks like I've got one more day in the mid 60s, then the day after tomorrow it's going to be back in the 70s again.
Today is the last day of the Big Show in Quartzsite, so I would expect a few of those folks leaving the Big Show to head for Wickenburg, and possibly end up in the same Arizona trust lands where I currently reside. So it might get more crowded around here.
Yesterday, I said there were no Walmarts in the area of Wickenburg, but actually, there is…..sort of. There's a Walmart in Surprise, Arizona, which is about 45 miles from where I'm boondocked. And some folks living in Wickenburg drive there every couple of weeks to buy groceries. But in my situation, that doesn't work out, since the money I save on Walmart groceries wouldn't be enough to cover the cost of the diesel fuel to get there and back, and I don't have enough refrigerator room to stock up on much of anything, which is why I go shopping so often. But for the folks who live in Wickenburg, driving to the Surprise Walmart and buying giant bundles of paper towels and toilet paper makes perfect sense.
