Super- Bloom
And speaking of flowers, which I was speaking of in yesterday's blog..... During this time of year, which is early spring, I try to keep up with what's going on with the flower situation in Arizona, mainly because Arizona occasionally has what's called a Super- Bloom, where a large quantity of desert flowers are blooming all at the same time. Which is quite spectacular to see, and interesting to take pictures of.
A Super- Bloom is caused by perfect climatic conditions, happening at a critical time that causes desert flowers not only to Bloom at the same time, but also way more flowers than would bloom at a normal time. They say it only happens once every 10 years, but I've been fortunate enough to witness two Super-Blooms in the 11 years I've been full-timing in Arizona.
But the reason I'm mentioning this now is partly that I have nothing interesting going on in my life to write about, and, if there is a super- bloom, it generally influences the places I go and how long I stay, to witness these desert flowers. Since some areas of Arizona are affected more than others, I would be gathering information about what's going on in different parts of Arizona to determine where I should be. But so far, I'm still not sure if there's even going to be a Super- Bloom, so what little planning I do is in limbo until it can be determined if, when, and where a Super-Bloom would be occurring.

I'm still in the Sonoran Desert, where everything sticks, pokes, or is poisonous. But despite that, there's still a lot of natural beauty.
Sunset the other night.
